By Mary Calmes. These traits serve him well with his hotshot partner, Ian Doyle, the kind of guy who can start a fight in an empty room. In the past three years of their life-and-death job, they've gone from strangers to professional coworkers to devoted teammates and best friends. But the power and control that brings Ian success and fulfillment in the field isn't working anywhere else. Over time, Ian has grudgingly accepted that going anywhere without his partner simply doesn't work. Now Miro just has to convince him that getting tangled up in heartstrings isn't being tied down at all.

Miro's infatuation with Ian plus Ian's need to be close to Miro - there were so many times I just shook my head and thought "Ian has it so bad for him. You can bet that I'll be reading the rest of this series pretty damn quick! Thrilling, fast paced series. This is the book that starts it all!

Highly recommend!! All Kinds of Tied Down Series: Marshals Book 1 Author: Mary Calmes Publisher: Dreamspinner Press Reviewer: Mollien Release Date: July 3, Genre s: Marshal Romance Page Count: This was one hell of an action romance.

A partnership such as the one between Ian and Miro was a beautiful thing to read. This is a very fast paced drama that is sure to keep you turning page after page. Lucky for us this is only the beginning with more action filled pages as the series continues. The plot of this book has us learning the dynamics of the partnership between Ian and Miro. Miro is gay, but Ian is straight. These two have interesting chemistry that is a slow build. I have already mentions that this book is fast paced.

The characters develop over the pages, and we learn more about the past that has made them the men that I want to read more of. Reviewed by Mollien from Alpha Book Club. Forgot your password? There is no sex within these pages of any kind, nada. So if, like me, you came to this expecting a sweet valentines novella I repeat, abort mission.

And if, like me, you haven't read this series in a while and aren't an aficionado of Mary Calmes' other work, just know that this is going to be hard going.

Honestly, the se 2. Honestly, the setup was good and suited the characters.

And weaving so much extra backstory and exposition into the story was a clever idea for devout fans of this authors work. But for me, this went in a completely different direction than I could actually keep up with.

I didn't know or remember most of the people or prior situations that were discussed in this story, so by the end I was skimming All in all I think this one is for hardcore fans or for those with a damn good memory. There was just too much that I didn't understand or get or remember. But I still can't wait till the next ones out. Feb 14, CrabbyPatty rated it really liked it Shelves: I was a bit lost at times since I didn't finish the Matter of Time series after the first two books, Jory drove me batshite crazy but this was a fun read.

Feb 16, Sara added it. This was perfect! I can't wipe the grin off my face or the melting of my heart to write anything else because this was perfect.

I know it was Ian and Miro but Jory and Sam? One Thing: Apr 19, Jacq rated it really liked it. Loved this! Feb 20, Angela rated it liked it. Who even are all these people? I was confused half the time. Mar 02, Elyxyz rated it really liked it. Apr 16, Esra rated it it was ok Shelves: Mar 31, Lisa rated it really liked it Shelves: A short story which takes place on Valentines, although its not really a lovey dovey story.

Ian and Milo are doing security for a function because its the Marshals turn. We met a host of other characters from previous books and then Ian and Milo end up sitting with Jory and Sam at an upmarket restaurant later for dinner where it all kicks off.

Some classic Jory moments. Aug 29, UltraMeital rated it liked it Shelves: Yet my problem was it got too complicated way too soon.. Frankly I'm not sure what was the true meaning of this one.. Maybe allowing Ian and Miro to see a different side of Sam, the man he is with his husband and kids but also his clos I liked the idea behind this one, truly meshing together Sam Kage and Jory Harcourt from "A Matter of Time" with our current couple - Miro and Ian.

Maybe allowing Ian and Miro to see a different side of Sam, the man he is with his husband and kids but also his close friends. It WAS nice, but I had a hard time following, especially their 13 years old daughter Hannah, whom I had no patience for also in the 3 short novellas from her POV from their series, and this one was no different. This one has a bit of explanation to a missing gun from the previous installment as well as a life threatening situation for Jory naturally.. There isn't a lot of Miro and Ian in a way which shows who and how they are as a couple now besides learning they are already married.

Holy moly! This little gift from the author is way more than a simple celebration of Valentine's Day between two favorite couples: Sam and Jory and Miro and Ian.

It's an actual story with a good storyline, a subplot about the mystery of the missing gun that killed Joey Romelli Acrobat , and a subplot about Farmer, the man who Sam Kage replaced in the Marshalls office.

Plus, there's a host of past characters included: Dreo and Nate my favorites!!!

No spoilers here, but definitely a most highly recommend to those who've loved this series. The link to the freebie is on the author's Goodreads author page. Feb 14, Courtney rated it really liked it Shelves: Short and cute. I loved seeing Jory and Sam again - Jory just never changes! I need a refresher!

My one minor complaint is that I really wish there had been a sex scene or just more interaction directly between Miro and Ian without other people around, but it was definitely enough to leave me chomping at the bit for the next full book. Feb 16, Bitchie rated it liked it Shelves: I'm not quite sure what the purpose of this was? Stories from books that I really don't remember the finer details of anyway, so I spent most of the time being confused and not knowing what was going on. At least it was free, and it was nice catching up on Jory and Sam and I'm not quite sure what the purpose of this was?

At least it was free, and it was nice catching up on Jory and Sam and Ian and Miro, so that's why this is getting the round up from 2. View 1 comment. Feb 14, Maya rated it really liked it. Fit to Be Tied

Ian and Miro are jumping right into the heavy stuff and it's not working well for them. Miro wants to get married, in fact he got a ring and got down on one knee. Ian doesn't. Ian doesn't understand why. What difference would it make? He isn't going to love Miro any more or less just because of a ring and a piece of paper. Miro is devastated because he's positive that if he were a woman this wouldn't be an issue. Oy vey, Mary. Right off the bat? Jesus, how stupid were they? The man was an egomaniac.

Prince Charming is what they called him, and it was the last case Miro worked as a police detective. Miro knows, even if the FBI doesn't understand, that Craig Hartley is never going to leave the area he terrorized. At least not until he's taken care of Miro and anyone who stands in his way. As I've said many times before, this author never leaves the story as simple as the description.

Oh no. Ian and Miro really don't know how to take it easy, and when they're sent undercover to the Marshal's office in Phoenix to keep them away from Craig, they discover how very different some offices are run compared to Sam Kage's.

Since I live in Arizona, I found a lot of humor in some of that. Unfortunately, it wasn't funny when Craig did get a hold of Miro. The torture and degradation was horrible, and it was even less funny when he and Ian were reunited. Brought tears to my eyes. I'm absolutely insane over this series and these guys.

I love the glimpses of Sam Kage, but in the end, it's all about Miro and Ian. They are everything I could ever want in main characters, and why shouldn't they be? Mary Calmes wrote them. That's all I need to say. This is an excellent, madcap adventure story, with hot and sexy men, who struggle through some insecurities and vulnerabilities. It's enough to make a girl swoon. Bring on more, Mary. Forgot your password?
