This is the bible for medical students, and contains pretty much everything you will need to know on the wards. Having the most up to date version is not essential, and I really found few differences between this and the previous one. Guidelines change so often that the only way to be truly up to date is to check the current NICE guidelines.

For every day use, any vaguely recent version will do. Excellent for revision. I wouldnt recommend this for medical students in non clinical years, as I bought it in 2nd year of medical school while we were still learning alot of physiology and it wasnt very useful nor did it aid my learning much to read through this until i was in final year and had learnt it all from other sources first.

Every medical student, or student studying other forms of medical science should have one of these.

Oxford Handbook of Clinical Medicine 10ED

Provides concise, up to date and adequate information about every condition you will come across in the medical profession excluding the extremely rare and bizarre. An essential book that any medic shouldn't be seen without. The book is well laid out and allows you to quick reference facts and stats - highly useful when working on the wards.

Excellent purchase! As a Medical Student, this is invaluable! I would absolutely recommend getting this size and format of book as opposed to the smaller mini-sizes, or electronic version as the format of the pages is clearer in the physical copy I have bought both!

Trying to look up a condition on your phone or tablet can be pretty hard to justify if a doctor or patient was to ask you why you are on your phone or tablet! This is good value for money and incredibly helpful for your education and well-being of patients!

Oxford Textbook of Medicine

A must-buy for any medical student or doctor! I'm a final year medical student and am only a few short months away from my finals. I have a vast amount to learn, but little time. This book is perfect for my clinical revision.

It's succint but doesn't miss a single crucial detail. What's even more fab is the scholastic writing style, which guides you through the book without being boring or overly complex. This book gets the essence of being a doctor. It's not how much you memorize, it's what can you do with your knowledge. You understand, reasonably, the condition in front of you, but no one can ever memorize every investigation or procedure. This is exactly what this book is for.

The best review book for clinical medicine I have tried so far.

I love the illustrations, quotes, the relative articles and historical information in each chapter in this book. Definitely not a regular dull medical book. A medical book written by literary artists.

My favorite book during rotations, always in my pocket! The font is small but not too small. It manages to fit an insane amount of info on a page without it feeling cluttered.

Each topic is covered very well. This is an essential pocket sized-guide to medicine and surgery. Very handy like its name "pocket book" and unlike other books that claimed pocket but they turn out to be very heavy and big, this book is not too big nor thick and quite light.

Quite thorough and straight forward with some color illustrations of some diseases. Perfect for those who need quick references during practise at the clinic or night shift at Emergency department.
